About Me

Hi, my name is Weng and I’m a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language. My parents are from Hong Kong, but I was born and raised in England. I am fluent in English and I have lived in London all my life. I even have a London accent! I studied in Harrow at the University of Westminster and gained a degree in Multimedia Computing.

I am a TEFL qualified tutor and I am very excited to help you improve your English. Classes are planned to suit your specific needs and I provide a free face-to-face meeting to talk about what you want from your lessons.

I prefer teaching one to one but I can also teach small groups of 2 or 3.

I offer:

  • Conversational English – listening, pronunciation and speaking
  • Vocabulary class – increase the words you can currently use
  • Reading and writing lessons
  • CV and job interview assistance - help with CV layouts and role play interviews
  • Slang and idioms

My main aim is to make you feel comfortable speaking English and using it everyday. Our lessons will make you feel more confident living in the UK and maybe help you with your plans in the future. I look forward to hearing from you!

Location & Skype Lessons

I work within the Ealing and Harrow-on-the-Hill area. I grew up in Ealing and I went to university in Harrow so I know those areas very well. We can have lessons in your home or we can have lessons in a cafe near your home. Lessons won’t always be in the same place. I like teaching in places where you can immediately use what is being taught so we might have lessons in a supermarket, a shopping centre or museum.

I also offer English lessons online using Skype. Sometime it is not possible to have a lesson face to face so this is an easy cheap alternative. We would have to meet up before we begin online lessons. You can ask me any questions by adding me on Skype, my username is Weng Lam Tutoring.

Experience With Different Cultures

I know how it feels being in a country and you don't speak the language. It is very stressful and I was nervous talking to people. I believe that learning the language will help make living here more enjoyable and comfortable. I have travelled to many countries around the world and have been exposed to different cultures. This has made me very good at communicating with other people. I am friendly to everyone I meet and respectful to their customs and traditions.

The countries I have visited: Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Mexico, Guatemala,
El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia.
